MUSIC
Music enhances math skills, provides opportunities for socialization, and increases your child's readiness to learn. Build your child's self-esteem while helping them develop an appreciation for music. Pre-registration is required one week prior to the start date.

ART AND CULTURE

SATURDAY ART PLAY (Ages 18-36 months)
Get messy together, have fun, and have your child meet little ones their age as they explore a variety of art activities. They'll paint with wacky objects; squish playdough, draw with chalk, and much more! Your tot will explore, be creative, and have fun with their parent. Pre-registration is required one week prior to the start date. There is a $3 supply fee.

ART EXPLORATION (AGES 6-9 AND 9-12)
Explore the art of multi-media drawing using various materials and combinations. Charcoal, pastels, watercolor, pen and ink, and pencil projects will be introduced along with basic art techniques. There is a $12 supply fee. Pre-registration is required one week prior to the start date.

This class will explore acrylic paints and the different ways they can be used. Acrylics can be used on different surfaces like wood, paper, and cloth. DRAWING BASICS FOR KIDS (Ages 8-12)
Prepare to leap forward with every class your young artist will improve. From fast sketching warm-ups, to step-by-step techniques, your child will learn how to use the basic shapes to sketch the world around them. On the last day of the class, we will have a showing of their artwork. Improvements are rewarding, but the most important element is to have fun. Pick-up a material list at the time of registration. ILLUSTRATIONS FOR TEENS WORKSHOP (Grades 9-12)
This class will be focused on fine-tuning their drawing talents, as students work on concept development, sketching, caricature development, then details to final stage action images. Start with photos to sketching, then tracing paper, and finishing with ink. Each student will leave the workshop with a portfolio piece to show off.

DANCE AND MOVEMENT
Dance and movement classes' teach children technique while increasing their rhythm, coordination, and confidence. As avenues for creative expression, these classes allow participants of all ages and skill levels to improve on fundamentals in a fun and energetic environment.

MINI-MOVERS (Ages 2-3)
Explore the world of music and dance while participating in teddy bear stretches, circle dancing, and a variety of independent activities. Parents are welcome to join in the fun as children learn simple dance steps, develop motor skills, and use their imagination. Pre-registration is required one week prior to the start date.

SONG, DANCE, AND TUMBLING II (Ages 4-6)
Designed for the child who has had some tumbling and dance experience, this class will develop body awareness, rhythm, and coordination. Students need to be able to listen to and follow directions, change weight from foot –to- foot in rhythm, execute a turn, balance on one foot, and change direction while moving across the floor to a variety of familiar and new routines.. JUDO RANGERS (Ages 4-7)
This class focuses primarily on developing the most fundamental skills that young students require to effectively learn Judo. These skills range from basic coordination, and balance to hand eye coordination, and spatial awareness. Basic pinning, falling, and throwing techniques are also taught. A uniform is not required the first session. Uniforms may be purchased from the instructor.

FAMILY YOGA AND NUTRITION
Is your family looking for ways to increase activity levels and to eat better? This 3-week class will focus on family support as you bring your family together to learn how to budget, plan, and prepare nutritious meals. You will also explore a variety of movement activities including yoga to burn those calories. These activities can be done together a level that is tailored to the ages and fitness levels of your family.

Little Kickers
This great 8-week preschool sports and movement program will get children up and moving as they are introduced to the introductory skills of soccer. Do you have a 5 or 6 year-old who has not played soccer? This class will develop basic soccer skills and some confidence on the field of play. Kids will be introduced to sportsmanship and team play. They will play some small-sided soccer games. Each class is 50 minutes.

MICRO
This non-competitive league is designed to enhance individual and team skills with an emphasis on fun and safety. This league is for those who have played soccer in Little Kickers or another program. The class will consist of 15-20 minutes of instruction and 20-25 minutes of games. Everyone will get equal playing time and there will be no goalies.

We strive to nurture your children by providing opportunities to strengthen their self-esteem, as well as develop positive interactions with children of different abilities, ages and social –economic backgrounds. By taking part in our preschool program, your child will gain the skills necessary to prepare them as active participants in life-long learning.

Garden Classes Ages 3-5
These classes offer a story-based curriculum which allows the child to learn through multiple exposures to the same concepts. Activities encompass language, social skills, physical development and the development of independence. The Garden classes also focus on establishing routines and making transitions in order to prepare them for life-long learning. The Rose classes' focuses on those skills that are needed to prepare your child for kindergarten: turn taking, pre-writing skills, letter recognition, fine motor skills, and direction following.

These classes provide children with an opportunity to develop their social, language, and motor skills in an environment that will nurture your child. Fun in the Park is Back!
Join us throughout the summer as we bring crafts and games to six neighborhood parks from 10am-Noon. The activities are geared for ages 3-10 but all are welcome to come out and enjoy the parks and the fun. These park days are sponsored by the Takena Kiwanis.
